Yogi Govt continues infra push: targets to build 19,000 km of roads in 2-years

Aiming at the economic transformation of the villages and to ensure seamless connectivity in such areas, the roads will be built at a cost of Rs 15,000 crore.

Lucknow: To pave the way for all-round development of villages and remote areas, the Yogi government has targeted construction of 19,000 km of roads over the next two years under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).

Aiming at the economic transformation of the villages and to ensure seamless connectivity in such areas, the roads will be built at a cost of Rs 15,000 crore.

Uttar Pradesh under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath is consistently on the path of development and its rural population is an integral part of this growth trajectory. To make Uttar Pradesh the number one economy of the country, the state government is sparing no efforts by improving the infrastructure.

To realize the above objective, the work of connecting villages with roads is progressing on a war-footing. This will not only ease vehicular congestion in such areas but also will generate employment opportunities and will enable the farmers to transport food grains, vegetables, and milk to the market places with ease, thereby increasing their income.

The government aims to complete the construction of 8000 km of the road in the next six months.

It is worth mentioning that, Uttar Pradesh before 2017, used to lack the facility of reaching villages by roads. Owing to the sustained efforts of the Yogi government to improve the road infrastructure, the villages, rural and remote areas are now becoming a part of the mainstream development
