
New Delhi: The sky-rocketing prices of petrol and diesel have become a hot topic of discussion. From round table discussions in the parliament to the tea corners, they have achieved a top place even on political parties’ manifestos. Now, petrol and diesel have acquired a new avatar, which is as wedding gifts.
A video has gone viral which showed that the fuels were nicely bottled and presented to a newly-wed couple on stage at a wedding ceremony in Cheyyur village in the Chengalpattu district of Tamil Nadu. The bride and the groom namely Keerthana and Grace Kumar were gifted two bottles of petrol and diesel by their friends.
After being reported by the leading news agency, ANI, the incident went viral online. The incident took place in Tamil Nadu where the prices of petrol and diesel have soared and the current price is Rs 111.84 and Rs 101.95 respectively.

After this incident, it can be said that if the prices of the fuels keep maintaining this rate, soon enough they will reach an ornamental shade.
Moreover, this is not the first time such an incident has surfaced online. In February 2021, another married couple was gifted canisters of petrol as gifts at their wedding ceremony in Tamil Nadu. However, in this case, the attendees of the wedding also gifted an LPG cylinder gas and onions along with the fuel and make a nice gift pack and presented to the newly-wed.
