New Delhi: Eid-ul-Fitr or Eid is an auspicious day which is celebrated across the world in the holy month of Ramdan which is also known as Ramzan. Eid is celebrated after Muslim community observe fast from dawn to dusk for a month.
During Ramdan or Ramzan, Muslims observes fast sand refrain from eating and drinking; this is the time for prayer and self-reflection.
According to the Islamic lunar calendar, Ramdan or Ramzan is observed everyyear on the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and it basically falls on March or April as per the Gregorian calendar.
This year, Ramdan or Ramzan is being obsrved from March 23rd to April 21. The Ramdan or Ramzan fasting ends with the celebration of Eid ul Fitr across the world.
Eid-ul-Fitr is also known as Meethi Eid or Eid it is celebrated every year on the first day in the month of Shawaal.
On this day, sweet dishes like Sheer Khurma and Kimami Sevaiyan are prepared and it is also an important part of this festivity.
