Meet Kanika Tekriwal, a 32-year-old woman who owns ten private jets

Tekriwal co-founded her company with her friend Sudheer Perla, an M.B.A. graduate.

New Delhi: At the age of 22, she launched an aviation-related company. At the age of 32, she owns ten private jets. Doesn’t it sound like you’re living a fantasy? Not at all! As one of the few women in the industry, she has faced her fair share of challenges.

Meet Kanika Tekriwal, the founder of JetSetGo, a plane aggregator that maintains, manages, and flies chartered planes and helicopters on behalf of its clients. Also termed the Uber of the Indian sky, JetSetGo’s adventure began in the year 2012 with a purpose of making private flying more accessible, transparent, inexpensive, and efficient to everyone.

“I’d had the idea for almost three years when I pulled out my sketch board and started working on it, but I was diagnosed with cancer, which pushed me back a year.” “Fortunately for me, no one else in the country had done anything comparable until I finished treatment or until today,” Kanika explains.

JetSetGo Information:

The company is now deploying electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft to pioneer air taxis with intra-city connectivity in India. It employs a combination of technology, innovative maintenance techniques, and SMART management, all of which were developed by JetSetGo’s exclusive properties.

As a result, maintenance costs are reduced, airtime is increased, and ground time is reduced, ensuring profitability. In reality, it significantly lowers the cost of chartered aircraft, making them more cheaply and regularly available to passengers.

The concept:

Kanika sought to transform the industry of privately chartered planes when she realised it was overrun with brokers and operators, causing a lot of unhappiness.

She goes on to say that anyone interested in using a private jet should contact a broker or a private operator, who would recommend jets or helicopters that will earn them the most money, regardless of the client’s needs.

“Customers pay enormous costs due to a complete lack of transparency and the non-availability of charter flights.” Similarly, if a consumer calls an operator, Kanika continues, the operator will pitch an aircraft that is entirely operated by that operator.

Her Vision:

The startup provides unprecedented safety and on-time arrival thanks to the ‘SMART’ management style, maintenance prevention, and prediction technology. Kanika hopes to realise the full potential of the third dimension — the sky — and make chartered air travel the future mode of transportation for Indians who value time and convenience.

“We want to make plane travel more accessible,” Kanika adds.

Kanika co-founded her company with her friend Sudheer Perla, an M.B.A. graduate. Her father ran a real estate and chemical business and was born into an orthodox Marwari household. Kanika received her schooling at a residential institution in South India. She later travelled to Mumbai to pursue an economics undergrad and a design certificate.
