Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s latest ad campaign irks netizens; questions the expression of models

Sabyasachi Mukherjee was once again at the receiving end of criticism after the release of new jewellery Autumn/Winter 2021 Collection.

New Delhi: Indian fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee has fallen prey to another round of criticism after the release of its latest advertisement campaign. The fashion brand has launched its new jewellery Autumn/Winter 2021 Collection featuring three models. However, the netizens seemed to irk about the expression of the models.

The ad features three models wearing fine jewellery made by Sabyasachi and his team. Sharing the pictures, the official Instagram page of Sabyasachi captioned it as, “Sabyasachi Fine Jewellery @sabyasachijewelry featuring uncut and brilliant cut diamonds, opals, pearls, emeralds, aquamarine and coloured stones in 22k gold.”

Soon after the ad was released on the social media platform, the netizens expressed their opinion on how the models looked too “serious.” Some criticised their facial expressions however others talked about the backdrop of the ad.

This is not the first time Sabyasachi Mukherjee has been on the receiving end of criticisms. In October, the fashion designer was criticised on the ad campaign featuring mangalsutras which was termed as “obscene” by the netizens.

The promotional advertisement featured both heterosexual and homosexual couples wearing The Royal Bengal Mangalsutra, which is a part of Sabyasachi’s intimate jewellery collection.
