New Delhi: It is quite normal for the world-renowned photographer, Steve McCurry’s work to create a buzz all around, as he brings forth serious affairs going around the world. On this year’s World Refugee Day, a photograph reshared by the photographer has left the Bollywood fans scratching their heads, as they spotted an uncanny resemblance of his subject with Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan.
To mark World Refugee Day, the photographer reshared a picture of an Afghan refugee who was living in Pakistan. Sharing the picture, he captioned, “This portrait of Shabuz, an Afghan refugee living in Pakistan, reminds us of the millions of displaced peoples around the world.”
The portrait shows an elderly man wearing a white turban, which is covering his head and one eye. The old bearded man sported spectacles that appear to be scratched and bore a rugged state, highlighting the vulnerable state of the Afghans. Although most sympathised on seeing the portrait, others pointed out the resemblance he bears with our own Big B.
“The unprecedented humanitarian crises across the globe, have resulted in the largest number of refugees in history. A hundred million people have been displaced from their homes,” he wrote. “We must all redouble our efforts to support these people, who through no fault of their own, find themselves in vulnerable and precarious situations,” he added.

This is not the first time this has happened. Back in 2018, people had shared the picture of the old man saying that it is a shot of Amitabh Bachchan from the sets of Thugs of Hindostan which starred Aamir Khan and Fatima Sana Shaikh, with a special appearance by Katrina Kaif.
Shared on Tuesday, the picture has garnered over 75,000 likes. With years gone by, whenever the picture is being reshared, the Big B fans are coming up with newer speculations if it’s Bachchan from an upcoming project.
One of the users stated, “At first look, I thought it’s Mr Amitabh Bhachchan,” while another said, “Why does he look like Amitabh Bachchan with makeup on.”
