New Delhi: Gujarati folk singer Urvashi Radadiya, is a well-known face in the state’s music industry. Often, she shares glimpses of her performances on social media, but this time, her performance video has gone viral all over the internet. It’s not because of her beautiful voice, but the gratitude shown by the audience towards her.
Urvashi Radadiya took to Instagram to share a video that shows her performing while a man arrives with a bucket full of cash and showers upon her. In the Instagram reel, the singer is already singing on a stage that is filled with currency notes. As the singer continues to sing along with her associate musicians, a man comes from behind and emptied a bucket full of currency notes on her.
Urvashi removes the pile of notes from her harmonium and continues with her performance. Later, in the video, the same man is seen showering Rs 500 notes on her one by one. In her post, Urvashi informed that the event was on the occasion of Tulsi Vivah, a festival that is a ceremonial marriage of Tulsi and Lord Vishnu. The event was organised by the Shri Samast Hirawadi Group in Gujarat.

The folk singer also thanked her fans and attendees for their “priceless love” towards her. Since, the share of the Instagram reel, it gathered 2.5 lakh views and over 17k likes.
Meanwhile, there were mixed reactions of the netizens in the comment section. One of the users asked, “Aatla pisa nu su karo (What will you do with so much money),” while another said, “God bless you with the voice.” A third user was surprised with the amount of money being showered and commented, “Baap re! paiso ki baarish.”
Urvashi describes herself as the “Queen of Gujarati folk” on her Instagram bio. She has a strong fan following on Instagram with 2 lakh people following her.
Recently, the singer met Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel at an event in Gandhinagar. As per her caption, a New Year Snehmilan event was organised by BJP’s Gandhinagar unit which was attended by the chief minister as well.
