They are residents of Hamirpur district's Swasa Budge village. The area comes under the Lalpura police station. Reena's marriage was fixed with Ravikant Ahirwar who is a resident of Jalaun district's Chamari village that comes under the jurisdiction of Atta police station. It is reported that fierce fighting started between both sides following the incident. Currently, the matter is being investigated by the police. It is still not known why the bride slaps the groom.
