New Delhi: On World Tuberculosis Day today, the Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has reaffirmed the central government’s commitment to make India Tuberculosis-free by 2025.

The Indian Government is also holding a mega event, “Step-Up to End TB- World TB Day Summit” on the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

Amidst serious efforts by the state and central administration to raise awareness regarding the epidemic, here we have brought to you the first major symptoms of the devastating disease you must not ignore.

What is Tuberculosis?

Tuberculosis was the top infectious airborne disease before the Covid-19 pandemic. When a person infected with TB coughs or sneezes, the Mycobacterium Tuberculosis bacteria travels through the air and leads to the further transmission of the deadly infection in others.
