The more time spent on a roller coaster, the more enjoyable it is. The longest wooden roller coaster in the world is about to get much longer. That’s right, you read that correctly.
The Beast at Kings Island, an amusement park in Ohio, has held the record for the world’s longest wooden roller coaster since 1979. According to a press statement published by Kings Island, The Beast is expected to break its own record when its track is enlarged by two feet, from 7,359 to 7,361 feet, in May of this year.
The coaster has retained the title of World’s Longest Wooden Roller Coaster when it was opened in 1979.
“But when comes to roller coaster records, they’re constantly being broken,” said Mike Koontz, Vice President and General Manager of Kings Island. “However, there is one record that no park in the world has been able to beat for more than 40 years, until now,” he continued, referring to the world record for the longest wooden roller coaster.
