New Delhi: A new ‘One-word Tweet’ trend has taken over the internet. Big organisations like NASA, Starbucks and ICC joined the trend and it was taken forward by celebrities such as Joe Biden, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and others. The trend has gained more than 20,000 tweets in no time.

Celebrities and companies are tweeting just one word that either describes them or is close to them. While netizens are speculating what this means, celebs are playing their fun game on social media. According to reports, the trend began with  an American train service provider named Amtrak, who took on Twitter to write “trains.” Soon after that, it became a trend and gained popularity.

Cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik brought the trend into the limelight in India. Sachin tweeted, “cricket”, while Virat shared a picture of his wife Anushka Sharma and wrote, “My.” Meanwhile, Dinesh Karthik and his wife Dipika Pallikal also tweeted each other’s names and netizens showered love for one of the most popular sporting couples in India.

Even IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore took on Twitter and wrote, “PlayBold.” ICC also participated in the trend and wrote, “cricket.”
