“Any player can go through that…” Rohit’s word of encouragement for Kohli after the semis

In the post-match conference, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma looked completely unfazed by the poor form of Kohli.

New Delhi: Virat Kohli has been in awful form throughout the entire ICC T20 World Cup. The 35-year-old who is probably in the last leg of his T20 career has hit a rough patch after a successful IPL season. However, that has not transcended into the T20 World Cup. Kohli’s highest score in this edition of the T20 WC has been only 37.

Nevertheless, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is behind his champion teammate and talismanic batsman. In the post-match conference, Rohit was seen unfazed by the poor form of Kohli. According to the Indian skipper, Kohli is just passing through a rough patch which is normal for any top-tier international player.

Rohit further added “He (Kohli) is a quality player. Any player can go through that. We understand his class and his importance….” Moreover, Rohit is confident that Kohli will shine in the finals against the Proteas.

The good news for India is that Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has somehow found his groove as he scored back-to-back half-centuries against Australia and England. In Guyana, Sharma was assisted by Suryakumar Yadav to take the score to 171/7. The duo stitched a solid partnership of 73 runs to save the team which was languishing at 40/2.

Eventually, Rohit scored scored 57 off 39 while Surya scored 47 off 36. In reply, England came out all guns blazing. However, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav put brakes on the ambition of England as they bundled out for 103. Both Kuldeep and Axar picked 3 wickets each.
