As second inning starts, spinners shine in Narendra Modi Stadium

Joe Root just gave his career-best bowling performance by taking 5 wickets while giving only 8 runs. Out of 6.2 overs he bowled, Root had 3 maiden overs and an economy rate of just 1.26.

New Delhi: As the second innings has started of the 3rd test between India and England, Axar Patel has already taken 2 wickets in the first over of the innings. He took 6 wicket in the first innings as well. With the pitch expected to keep surprising like this, the match may be over by the third day.

Team India lost all their wickets at just 145 runs, going into the second inning with a thin lead of just 33 runs.

Spinners shine

The stadium which was earlier called ‘Sardar Patel Stadium’ has proved to have a highly turning pitch. Spinners are finding it very easy to take wickets on this wicket.

Another spinner from the England Cricket team took 4 wickets and all of them were significant. Jack Leach completely demolished the top order of team India by taking wickets of Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, and Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

Axar Patel

The Indian spinner took 6 wickets and his economy rate was just 1.75. This is the second test match of his career. In the first match he took a total of 7 wickets- 2 in first and 5 in second innings. He has already 6 in first innings of the third test against England which is going on in the world’s largest cricket stadium.

Ravichandran Ashwin

The player, who played his last limited-overs match in July 2017, has been shining for team India in tests match since. In the first innings of 3rd test he took 3 wickets with an economy rate of just 1.63. He was also the hero in the 2nd test against England when he scored phenomenal 106 runs in the second innings.
