Cricket unites people together; These pictures once again proved it

New Delhi: India has won New Zealand in the two-match Test series by 372 runs, putting the score of 1-0 on the board. With players celebrating around, the Player of the Series Ravichandran Aswin shared a photograph that showcases how cricket brings people together. It has been proved multiple times as players or fans genuinely appreciate the opponents.

The spinner, Aswin took to Twitter to share an appreciation post writing, “A series win over the world champs ! Feels great to win a test at the Wankhede always. A fab innings by @mayankcricket and great bowling performance by @AjazP . A special thanks to the @NorthStandGang for their support through the game (sic).”

However, one picture stood out from the rest that absolutely talked about unity. Very strategically Axar Patel was made to stand beside (Ajaz) Patel and on the right (Rachin) Ravindra was alongside (Ravindra) Jadeja. The snap was beautifully taken as it, as a whole read “Axar Patel Ravindra Jageja.”

Netizens have loved the shot and here are some of their reactions:

In the two-match test series, India opted to bat first. Mayank Agarwal’s century (150) helped India to reach a total of 325 runs with all wickets down. New Zealand managed to score 62 and 167 in their respective innings. India declared for 276/7 which gave New Zealand a score of 540 runs to victory.

Meanwhile, Ajaz Patel scalping ten wickets in an innings made him the third cricketer in the history of the game to achieve this success. His last wicket was Mohammed Siraj with whom the runs of India were restricted to 325 during the second Test in Mumbai. Patel, who was born in Mumbai, achieved this biggest feat of his life.

On the other hand, Rachin Ravindra is the son of Indian parents Ravi Krishnamurthy and Deepa Krishnamurthy, who shifted to New Zealand in the early 1990s. Currently, they live in New Zealand’s capital Wellington. Ravindra’s first Rachin is the portmanteau of two great Indian batters Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar.
