New Delhi: The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 has advanced to final stages and the participating teams are now gearing for big semi-final clash, in days to come. Team India remains the only unbeaten team in the tournament and are the table-toppers in the World Cup points tally. South Africa occupies second spot with 12 points.

Besides the points tally, the race is also on for tournament’s top run-score and highest wicket-taker.

Virat Kohli’s fantastic innings against South Africa, where he scored his 49th century, elevated his rankings in the top-scorer charts however, he still remains one short of the top spot.

1) Quinton de Kock

South African batsman Quinton de Kock started his World Cup campaign on a fiery note and has scored a staggering 550 runs in 8 matches. Till 2-3 days ago, he was the only player in the 500 runs category, however, that boundary remains broken now with the entry of Virat Kohli and New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra.

de Kock’s brilliant knocks has made South Africa excel in the World Cup. His highest score in the tournament is 174 runs. All eyes will be on him & team’s scorecard, when South Africa takes on Afghanistan on November 10.

2) Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli has been in sublime form, playing some instrumental knocks and chasing some big targets for the team. With 543 runs, he is the second biggest scoring batsman and trails de Kock with a brief margin. Kohli, after scoring 49th ton, equaled his ‘hero’ Sachin Tendulkar’s record and is set to attain new milestone in subsequent matches. His top score in this tournament has been 103 runs against Netherlands.

3) Rachin Ravindra

Rachin Ravindra of New Zealand is the biggest discovery of this World Cup. The Kiwi all-rounder started on a monumental note and led his side to a solid start in the tournament. He is the only player to have scored third century in the tournament. His highest score in the cricketing extravaganza is 123 not out.

4) Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma is the second Indian player in the top scorer list, on back of his prolific innings. His excellent innings against England invited admiration & appreciation. His highest score this World Cup is 131 runs.

5) David Warner

David Warner

Australia’s David Warner is among the leading batsmen of this World Cup. His highest score in this World Cup is 163 runs. The Aussie cricketer will be looking to consolidate his position with good scores against Afghanistan & Bangladesh.
