‘Hitman’ Rohit creates history, becomes 1st captain to score ton in all 3 formats; netizens erupt

Cricket lovers are ecstatic & jubilant over the tremendous form of Rohit Sharma and admiration is flowing for him from all quarters.

New Delhi: Team India is on fire in the first Test match of Border Gavaskar Trophy. Yesterday, Ravindra Jadeja & R Ashwin’s fine bowling bundled up the Aussies for mere 177 runs.

Today, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma scripted history by scoring century. What makes his century special is that he has become the only Team India captain, to score ton in all formats of the game – Test, ODI & T20.

With this, he has beaten the likes of MS Dhoni & Virat Kohli to achieve this feat. The hitman achieved this milestone while playing his third Test as Team India skipper and 46th overall. Both Dhoni & Kohli led the Men in Blue in many matches but they failed to play captain’s knock in Test matches.

In the One Day Internationals (ODI), Rohit scored his maiden century while leading the side against Sri Lanka in Mohali (2017). In that particular match, he captained the team in absence of Virat Kohli and had remained unbeaten on 208. His century as skipper in Twenty20 International (T20) also came against Sri Lanka. He scored 118 runs in T20 match against Lanka in Indore (2017).

SA’s du Plessis, only player before Rohit

By scoring three-figure mark as skipper in all three-formats – ODIs, T20 and Test matches, Rohit Sharma has become the only second player in the world to have achieved this distinction. Before him, South African skipper Faf du Plessis was the only player, who scored centuries while leading the team, in all formats of game.

All-round applause for Rohit

Cricket lovers are ecstatic & jubilant over the tremendous form of Rohit Sharma and admiration is flowing for him from all quarters. Many cricket fans took to Twitter to share their joy & elation over Rohit’s yet another landmark.
