Soon after the match ended with results in India’s favor, the ICT fans, who still hadn’t recovered from World Cup heartbreak, took to Twitter (Now X) and flooded the platform with hilarious memes

New Delhi: Not even 100 hours have passed since India received a crushing defeat at the hands of Aussies in the CWC 2023 finals and they were once again pitted against the baggy green in the first T20 international last Wednesday.

In the match, played at Vishakapatnam’s ACA-VACA stadium, the young team of men in blue managed to beat Australia in a nail-biting encounter which went on till the second last ball of the game.

However, soon after the match ended with results in India’s favor, the ICT fans, who still hadn’t recovered from World Cup heartbreak, took to Twitter (Now X) and flooded the platform with hilarious memes.

While the majority of these memes revolved around the significant difference between India’s performance in Knockout matches and bilateral series, they also highlighted that India’s victory in the ongoing T20 series matters a little to the fans.

India vs Australia

Speaking about the match, Australia posed a gigantic total of 208 runs on the board after Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and invited them to bat first.

While the majority of the Aussie batsmen failed to impress with their performance, Josh Inglis gave the best for his team by smashing a quick Ton (110 off 50 balls) with a thundering strike rate of 220.

Later, when India came out to bat and chase a challenging total of 209 runs, they had a horrible start and lost two quick wickets just at a score of 22 runs.

However, captain Surya Kumar Yadav along with his partner Ishan Kishan (58 runs off 39 balls), came to the rescue of his team and changed the game’s dynamics by scoring a quick 80 off 40 balls.

He also found companionship in IPL hero Rinku Singh whose unbeaten cameo 22(14) made India cross the line and get a 1-0 lead in the 5-match T20 series.

Now, India and Australia will play their next game on 26 November (Sunday) in Kerela’s greenfield stadium.
