IPL 2020, DC vs KXIP: Massive blow for Delhi Capitals as Ishant Sharma suffers back injury before opener against Punjab

Ishant has grown through the ranks to become a senior fast bowler for India. He has not been a regular in limited-overs but Ishant has led the charge for India in the Tests.

New Delhi: Delhi Capitals suffered a massive setback ahead of their IPL 2020 opener as senior India fast bowler Ishant Sharma injured himself during a training. As per Cricbuzz, the veteran injured his back during the training and will be out of action for a considerable amount of time. This is set to be a big blow for the Capitals, who were hoping to field their best 11.

Ishant Sharma has faced a number of injuries in the recent past and had to be sidelined for the same reason. He took the last blow during January, when he injured his ankle and then returned to play in New Zealand before taking a blow in the same area, all over again. The repeated injuries comes as a major cause of concern for the 32-year-old Delhi fast bowler.

Ishant has grown through the ranks to become a senior fast bowler for India. He has not been a regular in limited-overs but Ishant has led the charge for India in the Tests.

The Capitals have Kagiso Rabada, Avesh Khan and Keemo Paul to take care of the pace department. But, Ishant could have provided balance to the side had he been there as he is a national player.
