New Delhi: Former India skipper Virat Kohli has been put on a “rest” by the cricket board owing to his groin strain. This has given rise to several speculations including whether he will be playing for the second match or not.
Answering all questions at one, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared pictures of Kohli having a net session, suggesting that he would be returning to the playing XI with India locking horns with England in the second ODI at Lord’s in London on Thursday. Besides, Rohit Sharma also confirmed the news during the toss that Kohli was back on the team, replacing Shreyas Iyer.

Kohli’s last two T20I matches against England were not up to the mark as scored 1 and 11 and picked up a groin strain during the third match. Shreyas Iyer replaced Kohli in the first ODI, however, did not get the chance to bat as Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dawan registered a 10-wicket win with India reaching 2-1 on scoreboard.
