Pravin Tambe chokes after watching his biopic ‘Kaun Pravin Tambe?’ with KKR squad; WATCH VIDEO

Tambe had no professional experience in the field of cricketer before he was picked up by Rajasthan Royals in 2013.

New Delhi: Directed by Jayprad Desai, ‘Kaun Pravin Tambe?’ is winning hearts all over as the movie narrates the story of a very common man who ran behind his dreams and finally chased them. Starring Shreyas Talpade in the character of the veteran cricketer Pravin Tambe, the movie was released today on Disney+Hotstar.

Leg-spinner Pravin Tambe himself watched his biopic along with the Kolkata Knight Riders squad and was left out of words. KKR shared a video where Tambe was seen watching the movie along with the KKR players and staff. Tambe stood up to speak a few words in front of the KKR squad but choked up as he started. He said, “I just want to say,” and got a little emotional. The team lauded and encouraged the veteran pinner.

Gathering his composure, he said, “Just never give up on your dreams.”

Being a bit emotionally he added, “Dreams do come true. Really, dreams do come true.”

After watching the movie, KKR captain Shreyas Iyer is heard saying in the video, “We were quite excited to watch the movie, and today we finally got to see it. It was emotional, the songs were also nice, and then hearing his speech at the end, I was a little teary at the end.”

As soon as the movie got over, there were claps, whistles, and pats on the back of Tambe, marking a special moment for the cricketer.

“Lot of people know that I debuted when I was 41, but they don’t know what I did before that. So people will watch the movie and get to know and hopefully it will make them think that one should never give up,” Tambe said in the video.

Tambe had no professional experience in the field of cricketer before he was picked up by Rajasthan Royals in 2013. He made a debut at the age of 41 in the Indian Premier League and this case is the first of its kind. In 2014, he secured a two-ball hattrick to dismiss KKR’s Manish Pandey, Yusuf Pathan, and Ryan ten Doeschate to pick up the ‘Man of the Match’ award.

He finished that season, becoming the highest wicket-taker by scalping 15 wickets to his name for Rajasthan Royal. Down the years, he played for Gujarat Lions and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

In 2020, he was bought by KKR, however, the BCCI cancelled his contract as he had taken part in a T10 league without the requisite permissions. In 2020, he became the first Indian player to play in the Caribbean Premier League, representing Trinbago Knight Riders, eventually winning the Championship that year.
