New Delhi: In a recent tournament, the BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said on Thursday that India’s premier batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli should not be coerced to take part in the upcoming Duleep Trophy 2024. Both Virat and Rohit are coming after a long cricket schedule which included the tour of Sri Lanka and the ICC T20 World Cup.
Naturally, the Secretary of BCCI insisted that both players should be given some rest to recover their bodies. Furthermore, Jay Shah gave the example of England and Australia who give rest to their senior players and remarked, “We should not insist on players like Rohit and Virat to play in the Duleep Trophy. They will risk injury…”
