“Suddenly I will be a bad captain”, says Rohit Sharma, shocks fans ahead of IND vs SL clash in CWC 2023

Team India is currently the only unbeaten team in the tournament

New Delhi:  Team India is currently having a dream run in the ICC World Cup 2023 and skipper Rohit Sharma is getting overwhelming praise and love from the fans for the same.

However, despite everything going right for the men in blue at the moment, the veteran cricketer is well aware of the consequences he and his men will face in case they lose a game at any crucial stage of the multinational tournament.

It seems like Rohit knows how a single loss will lead to a drastic drop in the accolades Team India is currently receiving due to its exceptionally good performance in the World Cup 2023.

I Will Become A Bad Captian

Speaking about the same, Rohit, in a pre-match press conference, said that he is well aware of how one defeat in World Cup 2023 will immediately make him a bad captain in the eyes of many.

He said “It’s not just my thought process, it’s the whole team’s thought process that we all comply with. You know when things look good everything looks good everything works well I know how this whole thing works I know one game here and there and suddenly I will be a bad caption so I know how it all works.”

The ace Indian opener further stated that he is not bothered about the far future and is currently focusing on performing his best in every match.

“We are not thinking that far, to be honest we just are trying to win every match as I have mentioned earlier, for us every match is important How did we do well in that and what are the things we didn’t do in the last match and how can we do it in this match. We are focused on that, and after that, we move forward it won’t be right for us to think about the future and say that we have to stay unbeaten. That isn’t our goal, our goal is just to play well in each and every game” the Indian captain added further.”

India’s ticket to the Semi-finals

Team India is currently the only unbeaten team in the tournament which has won 6 back to back games and is on the verge of officially qualifying for the semi-finals. A victory against Sri Lanka in Today’s match will guarantee it a spot in the next stage of the tournament and end the campaign by eliminating them from the race for ICC World Cup 2023 Title.

The match will be played today at around 2 PM (IST) in Wankhede Stadium where Rohit and his men will walk to the field as overwhelming favorites against their Asian counterparts who haven’t defeated India in an ODI World Cup encounter for 16 years.
