While Virat Kohli addresses media, memes & jokes float on social media

Last week, BCCI, in a one-line tweet, said the ODI and T20I captaincy had been handed over to Rohit Sharma. This came after Kohli announced to step down as India’s T20I captain after the tournament.

New Delhi: In last few days, Team India has been in news more for reports of rift between top players rather than upcoming tour of South Africa. Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma are said not to be in good terms for sometime now. The speculation only gained strength after Rohit pulled out of Test Series due to hamstring injury while Kohli reportedly declined his availability for the ODI series in South Africa.

Last week, BCCI, in a one-line tweet, said the ODI and T20I captaincy had been handed over to Rohit Sharma. This came after Kohli announced to step down as India’s T20I captain after the tournament.

However, Virat Kohli in a media address today refuted all murmurs of spat and asserted that he was always available for selection. Putting selectors in the dock, Kohli said that he was absolutely honest to the job and if they didn’t want him to lead the side, he was fine with it.

The speculations of differences gained more ground after Azharuddin & couple of other players tweeted on the issue. This gave the social media enough fodder to talk about. Since yesterday, lot of memes & jokes (some not in good taste) are floating on social media.
