Wriddhiman Saha warns ‘unnamed journalist’: If repetition happens, won’t hold back name

Saha had alleged in his tweet on Monday that a journalist threatened him not to interview again as he ignored his calls.

New Delhi: In the latest development in the Wriddhiman Shah and journalist controversy, the veteran Indian wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha further tweeted on Tuesday. Saha said he was hurt and offended due to the tweet of a journalist. He also warned the journalist not to repeat such mistakes otherwise he will not hold back the name for the next time.

Not revealing name on grounds of humanity

Wriddhiman Saha wrote three tweets back to back. In the second tweet, Shah said it is not his nature to end someone’s career. He added in the tweet, ”So on grounds of humanity looking at his/her family, I am not exposing the name for the time being. Warning the journalist, he wrote, ”But if any such repetition happens, I will not hold back.”

Hurt and offended, says Saha

In his first tweet, Wriddhiman Saha said the WhatsApp message of the journalist hurt and offended him. That’s why he exposed the chat in the public eye.

”I was hurt and offended. I thought not to tolerate such kind of behaviour and didn’t want anyone to go through these kinds of bullying. I decided I will go out and expose the chat in the public eye, but not his/ her name,” read the tweet of Saha.

Saha thanks everyone for support

In the last tweet, he thanked everyone for their support in the controversy. Notably, one of the biggest names among the supporter was former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag. Sehwag on Monday tweeted, ‘’Extremely sad. Such sense of entitlement, neither is he respected nor a journalist, just chamchagiri. With you Wriddhi.’’

Saha on Monday alleged that the journalist threatened not to interview him again as he ignored his calls. Wriddhiman also shared the screenshot of the messages on Twitter.

One of the messages of the journalist read, ”You did not call. Never again will I interview you. I don’t take insults kindly. And I will remember this.”

However, Saha shared the message on social media. Sharing the message, he wrote, ”After all of my contributions to Indian cricket…this is what I face from a so-called ”Respected” journalist! This is where the journalism has gone.”

In the controversy, the BCCI announced to look into the matter. The decision of BCCI was also welcomed by the Indian Cricketer’s Association (ICA).
