WTC final: BCCI announces India’s Playing XI against New Zealand for epic clash

In the final India squad for WTC final, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill have been confirmed as the openers against New Zealand, while Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane will form the top-5 line-up in batting order.

New Delhi: With the decks ready for India-New Zealand final clash in the World Test Championship, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced the Playing XI for the epic encounter.

In the final India squad for WTC final, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill have been confirmed as the openers against New Zealand, while Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane will form the top-5 line-up in batting order.

Rishabh Pant will be the wicketkeeper-batsman for the side.

Ravindra Jadeja makes a comeback to the Playing XI while R Ashwin retains his place after impressive performances in recent tournaments.

India’s 15-man squad for ICC World Test Championship

On Tuesday, the BCCI had announced India’s 15-member squad for the final World Test Championship encounter against New Zealand. Senior pacer Umesh has been picked over fast bowler Shardul Thakur while brought back Shami and Vihari. Opener Mayank Agarwal and all-rounder Washington Sundar was not named in the 15-member squad.
