Three more lines- Red Line, Green Line and Violet Line will also resume services the day from September 10 with the same schedule of 4 hours of passenger service each in the morning and evening under Stage-I plan of resumption of Metro services.

The Railways had started operating passenger trains since May after the coronavirus-induced lockdown in March this year led to a halt in operations. 

With 62,282 recoveries reported in the last 24 hours, India recorded the highest number of recoveries in a single day on Friday, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) informed.

The news of Shaw testing positive comes at a time when Bengaluru has seen a sharp surge in Covid-19 cases since the beginning of July.

"Continuing the streak of more than 6 lakh tests in a single day for several days, India’s tests have grown exponentially. 7,19,364 tests were done in the last 24 hours," said Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Sriramulu tweeted that he was tested after he got hit by flu and that he's hospitalised because he has been visiting the state's 30 districts in the wake of pandemic.

Earlier in the day, Shah informed that he has tested positive for coronavirus and has been advised by the doctors to be admitted to the hospital.

India's coronavirus cases have risen to 15.31 lakh. The number of active cases in the country stands at 5,09,447 while 9,88,030 patients have been cured/discharged/migrated.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that a record 4,20,898 smples were tested for coronavirus within 24 hours. So far, laboratories have conducted 1,58,490,68 tests in the country.

Sources said that holding a virtual session of Parliament is also being considered as an option, the government also has the option to begin the proceedings with some MPs present physically, while others participate through video conferencing.
