CM Yogi leads from front, visits Corona hotspots in state; announces Rs 5 kg free ration to poor

CM Yogi has hit the ground running with whirlwind tours of districts including Moradabad, Gorakhpur, Aligarh, Mathura, Varanasi, etc, after coming out of isolation on April 30. Today, he visited Muzaffarnagar.

New Delhi: Patience is our greatest friend in the hour of crisis, and everyone should stand together to overcome this pandemic instead of creating an atmosphere of fear, said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while launching a sharp attack at the opposition.

CM Yogi who was on a visit to Muzaffarnagar after hitting the ground running with whirlwind tours of districts including Moradabad, Gorakhpur, Aligarh, Mathura, Varanasi, etc, after coming out of isolation on April 30, stated, “This pandemic should be tackled with ‘Patience’ instead of creating panic. But there are some people who instead of boosting morale are creating fear among the masses.”

Reiterating that Uttar Pradesh has sufficient supply of oxygen for treating the COVID-19 patients, CM said, “The
demand in the second wave of COVID-19 has reached over 1000 MT and we managed to meet it with the help of the Government of India, Air Force and Railways.”

The CM also said that as the state has managed to deal with the second wave of coronavirus, in the same way, the entire machinery is prepared to deal with the third wave.

While addressing a Press Conference in Muzaffarnagar after inspecting the COVID-19 command and control centre and a
review meeting with the district officials, the CM said that four oxygen plants are already established in the district and 6 more plants are being set up to ensure that there is no shortage of oxygen for the COVID-19 patients. At present, work is underway for 300 oxygen plants in the state, the chief minister said.

Over 1.5 Crore People Jabbed

Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh, being the most populous state, has successfully battled the fight against coronavirus with complete preparation.

On April 30, there were 3.10 lakh cases of COVID-19 in the state with the positivity rate of 16.5 percent, as of now the rate has been decreased to 3.5 percent and the number of infected patients are 1.49 lakh thus the number of patients has been reduced by 1.61 lakh.


Stating that the recovery rate in the state is almost 90 percent, the CM said over 1.5 crore people have been jabbed in the state, including 4.5 lakh people aged between 18 to 44 years.

Free Treatment For Post COVID-19 Patients

The CM has also asked the officials to ensure that there is no scarcity of food for underprivileged families in every district and village. From May 20, 5 kgs of food grain will be distributed among the poor and Rs 1000 per person per month to the daily wage workers, street vendors,cobblers,potters etc.

To curb the spread of Coronavirus infection in the villages, screening work is being done by the surveillance committees. If necessary, antibody and RT-PCR tests are also being performed. Free treatment also has been arranged for people post COVID-19.

CM Yogi meets villagers Of Rampur

After attending the press conference in Muzaffarnagar, CM Yogi reached Rampur village and met the villagers. He also interacted with the Rapid Response Team and ASHA workers engaged in the control of coronavirus infection and reviewed the system.

CM also urged the people to make sure no one gets out of home unnecessarily. People should maintain social distancing and wear a mask while going out of their homes. Those who are suffering from any disease, should definitely take all the necessary precautions.
