As the Budget Session of Parliament commences on Friday, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tables the Economic Survey 2019-20.
President Kovind delivered a speech in the Central Hall of Parliament. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu will also chair a meeting of floor leaders of Rajya Sabha at his residence today.
The Budget session of the Parliament will commence on January 31 and will conclude on April 3, sources said on Thursday.
This is an annual exercise done by Niti Aayog before the budget. Last year, Prime Minister Modi had a meeting with top 40 economists of the country in June, said an official statement.

Chidambaram said if the BJP says the NPR 2010 was correct, it should stick to the same form. "Don't go beyond the 15 fields. And announce that the NPR will not be done. Even yesterday the Home Minister refused to announce the NRC will not be done," he said.
