Vidarbha, Buldana, and Gadchiroli are expected to have light showers of rainfall during the next 48 hours

The heavy downpour has also disrupted the rail traffic in the region. At least ten trains were cancelled today morning. Delays were reported on several routes.

The weather forecast agency further predicted that Saurashtra, Kutch, East Rajasthan and Gangetic West Bengal are also likely to receive heavy downpour later in the day.

As per the weather experts, Mumbai is receiving these heavy rains due to a Cyclonic Circulation over Madhya Maharashtra which is 5 km to 9 km above sea level.

The weather forecasting agency also predicted heavy rainfall at isolated places over Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh and Nagaland.

Strong winds, speed reaching 40-50 kmph, are likely to prevail over west-central and adjoining southwest Arabian Sea, North Arabian Sea and west-central Bay of Bengal.

Apart from these, states such as Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Gangetic West Bengal will also witness rain showers.

The weather department has also predicted heavy rainfall at isolated places over South Interior Karnataka, Konkan and Goa this week.

The weather forecaster also said conditions are becoming favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into remaining parts of Haryana, Punjab and some more parts of Rajasthan during the next 24 hours.

Areas in south interior Karnataka, Konkan and Goa may witness heavy rainfall on Saturday, the weather forecasting stated in its countrywide weather warning Bulletin.
