IMD: Odisha to witness dip in night temperature from today; thundershower likely on Feb 3, 4

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday said that some parts of Odisha may witness light to moderate rainfall or thundershower on February 3 and 4.

New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday said that some parts of Odisha may witness light to moderate rainfall or thundershower on February 3 and 4. The change in weather conditions is likely because of western disturbance.

The IMD’s regional centre also said in its mid-day bulletin that the Cold Wave conditions in the state will start getting normal from tonight as the minimum temperature during the night will go up.

Reportedly, the met department recorded the highest maximum (day) temperature of 29.0 degree Celsius at Chhatrapur. The lowest minimum (night) temperature was recorded at 7.0 degree Celsius at Phulbani of Kandhamal in the plains of Odisha.

However, It added that the Minimum (night) temperature is very likely to rise by 3 degree Celsius to 5 degree Celsius during the next three to four days over Odisha.

IMD’s forecast for next four days:

Tuesday i.e. February 1

The Department predicted dry weather for Tuesday. It added that shallow to moderate fog is expected to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Kandhamal, and Dhenkanal.

Wednesday i.e. February 2

The same forecast of Tuesday was issued for Wednesday. Shallow to moderate fog is likely to occur over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Dhenkanal, and Kalahandi.

IMD has predicted dense fog at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjapati, Ganjam, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, and Kandhamal.

Thursday i.e. February 3

For the upcoming Thursday, the IMD anticipated light to moderate rain or thundershower may occur in Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, and one or two places over the rest districts of North Odisha. Meanwhile, dry weather is likely to prevail over southern Odisha.

Friday i.e. February 4

On Friday, a thundershower accompanied with lighting has been predicted over the districts such as Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj. Furthermore, the people living in Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj may witness hailstorms.
