Leaders of the Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP will meet at the Assembly to discuss floor test and Speaker's election at 9.30 am.

Thackeray, the leader of Maha Vikas Aghadi of Sena-NCP-Congress, took oath as the 18th Chief Minister of Maharashtra and is the first person in his family to hold the post.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that the party will invite PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Uddhav Thackeray

This comes after Devendra Fadnavis announced his resignation as Maharashtra's chief minister, hours after the Supreme Court ordered a floor test in the state assembly.

Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress alliance today requested the Supreme Court to restrain the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis led Maharashtra government from taking important policy decisions.

Supreme Court orders Floor Test in the Maharashtra assembly to be held on November 27 before 5 pm. The proceedings shall be live telecast. Pro-tem Speaker should be appointed to conduct Floor Test. It will be open ballot.

"We are all one and together, watch our 162 together for the first time at Grand Hyatt at 7 pm, come and watch yourself, Maharashtra Governor," Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut tweeted.

NCP has removed Ajit Pawar as the leader of its legislative party, with the party chief saying that the decision of Ajit to align with the BJP was against the party line and any MLA who aligns with him is likely to face anti-defection law.

After a prolonged uncertainty over the government formation that lasted for nearly a month, Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday early morning took oath for the second consecutive term as the state chief minister, while Ajit Pawar was sworn-in as his deputy chief minister.

This comes at a time when NCP, Congress and Shiv Sena are holding hectic deliberations and talks and are inching closer towards government formation in Maharashtra.
