Striking images of Jupiter captured by NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope surfaces online

The latest pictures show the thin ring of dust particles that surrounds the planet along with auroras at the northern and southern poles

New Delhi: We all remember the giant planet of our solar system, Jupiter, as an orange-yellow ball of gas from the various encyclopedias and school textbooks from our childhood.

However, the American space agency has brought up some striking and never-seen-before images of the planet and has created a big buzz around the globe.

NASA’s much speculated James Webb telescope has captured several stunning images of Jupiter, giving us insights into the largest planet of the solar system.

The newest infrared pics of Jupiter made the planet look bluish-green in colour showing all that the sphere is known for including powerful winds, massive storms, extreme temperature and pressure conditions, and its auroras.

The latest pictures also show the thin ring of dust particles that surrounds the planet along with auroras at the northern and southern poles, as well as its two moons named Adrastea and Amalthea.

Check out fresh pics dropped by NASA:

“Giant news from a giant planet! @NASAWebb captured a new view of Jupiter in infrared light, uncovering clues to the planet’s inner life. Two moons, rings, and distant galaxies are visible”, the space agency tweeted on Tuesday.

Further, NASA also provided a direct link to access further details regarding the newest revealations in the matter – nasa.gov

Amazed on the stunning pics captured by the James Webb telescope, planetary astronomer Imke de Pater said in a press statement, “We hadn’t really expected it to be this good, to be honest”.

Termed as the most advance space telescope ever, James Webb was launched into space in December last year.
