New Delhi: Indian teams in both the men’s and women’s divisions are favourites for the gold medal in the Asian Games 2023. This is the first time of cricket has been part of the Asian games. Indian women’s team, who won a silver medal in the Commonwealth Games, started their gold medal hunt on a high note despite not being the most ideal way as they would have wanted. India set the target of 174 in 15 overs after the fiery shows from Shafali Verma (67) and Jemimah Rodrigues (47*), for the Malaysian women. But, the match was washed away only two balls into the second innings, resulting in India qualifying for the semi-finals because of their higher seeding (1) in the tournament.
