New Delhi: The physicist Oppenheimer was deeply influenced by the teachings of Bhagwat Gita. He has also kept a copy of the holy book along his bed side. According to reports, he also learned Sanskrit so that he could read the holy book in its original form. He also said this is ‘the most beautiful philosophical song existing in any known tongue.” He also adds that Bhagwat Gita is among the ten books that transformed his life. He was also heard saying in an interview, “I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says, ‘Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.'”
