New Delhi: An Enforcement Directorate Officer was allegedly arrested for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20 lakh from a government employee. The arrested officer is identified as Ankit Tiwari who was posted in Madurai Enforcement Department as an officer. The officer has been sent to the Judicial Custody till December 15th. The Anti-Corruption Department also conducted raids at the ED’s Madurai office and seized many documents. According to officials, he was threatening people and receiving bribes in the name of closing their cases in the Enforcement Directorate. Ankit Tiwari is a 2016 batch officer and was earlier serving in Gujarat.
