New Delhi: Marine Le Pen, a French far-right presidential candidate, has pledged to prosecute Muslims who wear headscarves in public. She made a final bid for votes as a politician three days before a tightening election. To RTL radio, Le Pen explained how her pledge to ban the headscarf in all public places would be accomplished, adding that it would be enforced by police in the same way as seatbelts are enforced in cars. “People will be fined in the same way that not wearing a seat belt is criminal. The police appear to be extremely capable of enforcing this policy, in my opinion “she stated. Le Pen has stated that she intends to utilise referendums to try to avoid constitutional challenges to several of her current proposals, which she claims are unfair and violate human liberties.
