New Delhi: There have been instances of fans entering the cricket field or even birds, cats and dogs roaming inside the ground. However, the India-South Africa T20I game in Guwahati, Assam saw a snake entering the playing ground. This interruption also halted the game for a while. After a cracking start from Indian openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma, the game was halted before the beginning of the eighth over. The ground staff was quick in dealing with it as they successfully removed the snake from the ground.

During the South African batting, the game was halted again due to a technical problem with the floodlights. The game was resumed after a halt of half an hour. Meanwhile, netizens shared various memes on the internet with the picture of the snake.
