This shock-striking incident reminds us of June 6, 1981, when a passenger train from Mansi to Seharsa got derailed when the driver made an emergency break amid bad weather conditions near the Bagmati river and seven of its bogies went drowning by crashing into the river crossing bridge.

New Delhi: The entire Indian territory is currently under deep grief because of the tragic train derailing accident in Odisha’s Balasore district. It caused more than 280 loss of lives while more than 900 people got injured. The disastrous accident happened when three trains collided, leaving hundreds dead. This shock-striking incident reminds us of June 6, 1981, when a passenger train from Mansi to Seharsa got derailed when the driver made an emergency break amid bad weather conditions near the Bagmati river and seven of its bogies went drowning by crashing into the river crossing bridge. Local people estimated that around 800 to 1000 people lost their lives. It was considered as the worst ever train accident.
