PM Modi unveils Ashoka Stambh built on the roof of new Parliament building

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday was invited to New Delhi to inaugurate the national emblem cast established on the roof of the new Parliament building.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday was invited to New Delhi to inaugurate the national emblem cast established on the roof of the new Parliament building. The emblem made of bronze has a height of 6.5 metres. According to the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) officials, the emblem has a total weight of 9,500 kg. They added that we also constructed a supporting structure of steel weighing around 6,500 kg around the emblem.

Meanwhile, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri and others were present. PM Modi also thanked and interacted with workers (Shramjeevis) involved in the construction of the new Parliament building on the sidelines of his visit.
