New Delhi: India beats Kuwait in the finals of the SAAF Championship match by a 5-4 penalty score clinching their 9th SAFF Trophy. After 90 minutes of the match and ending up with equal scores, both the teams played the penalty shootout in which India beats Kuwait. It was the second match of India with Kuwait in the Championship. Meanwhile, in the penalty shootout, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu emerged as the savior and defended the penalty from Khalid Hajiah which led India to win the match. In the penalty shootout, Udanta Singh missed the first shootout meanwhile, Abdullah of Kuwait hit the post. India wins its SAFF semi-final with Lebonon with a score of 4-2.
