New Delhi: Although the government has explicitly opposed same-sex marriage in the Supreme Court, a recent study revealed something surprising. According to a poll of around 6000 people, acceptance of same-sex marriage will lower the prevalence of despair, stress, and suicide among LGBTQIA youngsters. The survey was done a few days ago by a group of psychologists, academics, and educators. This was an attempt to assess the social and mental health in India, as well as the impact of legalizing homosexual marriage. The study comes as the Supreme Court is set to hear petitions over homosexual marriage today.
