New Delhi: Tomatoes worth Rs. 2.5 lakh were stolen from a farm in Karnataka’s Hassan district. Some thieves allegedly stole 50-60 bags of tomatoes from the farm located in Goni Somanhalli village of Hasan district. The farmer has filed a complaint of theft at Halebeedu police station, the farmer said after the harvest they were going to transport the crop to the Bengaluru market as the price of the tomatoes rose above 120 per kg. the farmer further said, this year they were having more productivity as compared to previous years but now nothing is left. Stating her grief, the farmer said they had stolen about 50 to 60 bags of tomatoes and destroyed the remaining crop.
