In many Arab societies, men kill they sisters who were raped, but Kurds and Yazidis defy this sickening culture, and behave as true honorable men #Respect pic.twitter.com/k0j7DLGY8R

I got very emotional seeing this . The brother is trying to touch her feet n asking for forgiveness as he was not in a position to protect her then. He must be thinking hw much pain his sister had suffered

Yazidi Genoside by Islamic State
Yazidis, a religious and ethnic minority from northern parts of Iraq were one of the main targets of the Islamic State for the reason of them being considered as heretics by the majority community. As per a United Nations report, over 4,00,000 Yazidis were tortured, enslaved and persecuted by ISIS.
Interestingly, despite being a patriarchal society where women are denied certain rights exclusively enjoyed by men, Kurdish and Yazidis defy the old medieval Arab tradition of brothers killing their raped, sexually abused sisters.
