Amid India-China tension, Pakistan moves 20,000 troops to Gilgit-Baltistan; sinister plot in the works?

At a time, when China has amassed its troops near Ladakh border and engaged in violent confrontation with Indian Army, Pakistan’s attempt to open front against India only goes on to suggest that two allies are plotting something sinister.

New Delhi: Amid the ongoing border tension between India and China, Pakistan is learnt to have moved its 20,000 soldiers in Gilgit-Baltistan area, falling in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).

According to an ET report, Pakistan has moved 2 divisions of troops along the Line of Control (LoC) and has activated radars all along the border. It further says that number of troops moved/deployed is more than those deployed after the Balakot airstrikes, in which IAF decimated the terror launchpads operating across the border.

‘Cunning’ China & ‘provocative’ Pak planning sinister move?

The timing of troops mobilization by Pakistan raises question mark over its intent and its motive. At a time, when China has amassed its troops near Ladakh border and engaged in violent confrontation with Indian Army, Pakistan’s attempt to open front against India only goes on to suggest that two allies are plotting something sinister.

The movement of troops by Pakistan reportedly comes after a series of meetings between Pakistani and Chinese officials.

Gilgit-Baltistan area and Ladakh are not very far off in location and therefore, build-up of forces across the LoC and LAC will be a big worry for Indian armed forces, especially if the stand-off aggravates.

Threat of two-front war?

Chinese officials have also held secret meetings with cadres of the Al Badr, a Pakistan-based terror group that has a history of wreaking violence in Kashmir, ET reported citing intelligence sources. The meeting was meant to revive the terror outfit for fanning terror in the valley, reports said.

These signs of collaboration between China and Paksitan indeed are an alarming signal for India.

As China continues to increase troops deployment across the LAC and Pakistan mobilizes troops along the LoC, experts believe this seeming collaboration is aimed at engaging India in two-front war, if such possibility happens.

Moreover, China’s attempt to incite terrorism in Kashmir via Al-Badr will put more strain on the security forces.
