New Delhi: A story of a flight attendant is getting viral on social media who received multiple job offers after she lost her job initially. Reportedly, the flight attendant known by her surname ‘hu’ was fired from a Chinese airline as they deemed her to be ”too old” to work. Hu, who is aged 50 worked with Norwegian Air Shuttle.

She was working with the airlines for the past 6 years before she got fired during an ‘internal restructuring’. After losing her job, she started looking for jobs in foreign airlines. She did not look for jobs in Chinese airlines as they do not employ females of 40 plus age.

Notably, she also started learning multiple new languages. She learned English and Finnish in the meantime. Eventually, she got several job offers from three overseas airlines that did not have an age limit.

Her motivational story has gone viral on the Internet. Chinese netizens are praising her for her dedication and continuous efforts. Moreover, in China, the age limit to retire from physically intensive work for women is 50 years. While that for men is 55 years according to China’s labour law.

In a video that is getting viral on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, Ms. Hu explained how she is able to handle this physically demanding job. She says that exercises daily and focuses on healthy diet and this is the reason she is able to manage long flying hours at such an age.

Social media users are calling her an inspiration. Some are even terming as the ”Role Model for the Women”. Netizens are also congratulating her as she begins a new start to her career.
