New Delhi: In yet tragic news coming from across the border, a Hindu doctor named Dharam Dev Raathi was brutally murdered by his driver inside the latter’s residence. The murderer ran away after killing the doctor in cold blood.
According to local Pakistani news portal The Nation, the driver slit the throat of his owner’s throat with a knife and fled the spot.
Police in a mega manhunt swooped upon the accused driver Hanif Leghari & nabbed him from his home in Khairpur.
The incident reportedly happened on the night of March 7-8. Doctor’s cook informed that police about murder. He told the cops that the duo had a brief altercation on their way home. After they reached doctor’s residence, the driver took a knife from kitchen & slit his throat.
Dr Dharam Dev Raathi was a renowned dermatologist/skin specialist in the Hyderabad area.
Though the reason & motive behind the murder is yet to be established, some reports claimed that the driver was miffed with the doctor playing Holi with his friends. He took up the matter with doctor & a verbal confrontation ensured, reports said.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Minister for Minority Affairs Giyan Chand Essarani has praised the cops for arresting the prime accused within 24 hours.
