Netizens quickly picked out the error in Biden’s speech to his mainly Indian-origin audience, who seemed confused as he used the name ‘Rashid’ multiple times

New Delhi: United States’ septuagenarian President Joe Biden doesn’t seem to take a break from making gaffes on the public forums and being subject to major embarrassment, inviting jokes and memes on social media.

After appearing wholly confused at several press conference events and shaking a lawmaker’s hand twice, Biden is now under fire for mispronouncing the name of Britain’s new Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

While congratulating the latter for taking over as the new British chief in his speech during the Diwali reception in the White House on Monday, Biden repeatedly referred to Sunak as ‘Rashid Sanook’.

Netizens quickly picked out the error in Biden’s speech to his mainly Indian-origin audience, who seemed confused as he used the name ‘Rashid’ multiple times. The video of his speech went viral on the microblogging site Twitter, with users flooding in hilarious reactions and memes on the blunder.
