Pak Defence Minister’s weird take on ‘markets & babies’ leaves internet amused

In a video shared on Twitter by Pak journalist Naila Inayat, Pak defence minister is heard giving bizarre reasoning behind birth of babies & also linking it with closure of markets.

New Delhi: A video of Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif seems to be driving netizens into peals of laughter as they are finding difficult to make sense of minister’s reasoning about population growth.

In a video shared on Twitter by Pak journalist Naila Inayat, Pak defence minister is heard giving bizarre reasoning behind birth of babies & also linking it with closure of markets. The video has gone viral on the social media and is drawing deluge of responses from the netizens.


The Defence Minister, during a press conference, made a bizarre co-relation between closure of markets & birth of babies. His remarks has left the locals as well as netizens in splits.

In the video, Khawaja Asif can be heard saying, “Jahan pe 8 baje market bandh ki hai wahan pe bacchon ki tadad kaam hai paida hone ki (Those places where markets close by 8 pm, less babies are produced.”

“New research, babies can’t be made after 8pm. “There’s no population increase in countries where markets close at 8pm, says defence minister,” Naila Inayat captioned the video.

As the video of Pakistan minister found traction on social media, many poked fun & laughed at bizarre logic.


It is not the first time that Pakistan ministers have been caught on the wrongfoot and hit the headlines for gaffe & speech blunders during conferences.
