Pakistan’s Sindh Assembly turns into wrestling ring, lawmakers engage in physical fight (VIDEO)

According to reports, Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers attacked 3 others for ‘switching sides’ before the Senate elections.

New Delhi: Chaos prevailed in Pakistan’s Sindh Assembly as a couple of lawmakers apparently came to blows and physical attacked each other.
According to reports, Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers attacked 3 others for ‘switching sides’ before the Senate elections.

The incident happened on Tuesday as PTI lawmakers physically thrashed ‘rebel’ party members during a session in the Sindh Assembly after they refused to vote for party candidates in the Senate elections.

Last month also, Pakistan national assembly witnessed mayhem as members of ruling and opposition party shoved each other and engaged in physical clash. The altercation apparently started over Opposition slogans against Imran government with slogans like – “Go Irman Go” and “Ata Mehnga, Roti Mehngi”.

What led to mayhem in Sindh Assembly

As the situation in the Sindh Assembly turned violent, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) members got involved in attempting to disengage the scuffling lawmakers.

According to Geo News, Aslam Abro spoke to the media and said they have made it clear to everyone that they will not vote along the party lines. He alleged that Senate tickets were sold and that they do not agree with the selection of Saifullah Abro and Faisal Vawda.

This came after Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced Senate elections on March 3. Pakistani opposition leaders vehemently opposed govt’s move to hold Senate elections via a show of hands.
