An explosion occurred on Friday near a Shia mosque in Kandahar province in Afghanistan, eyewitness told Sputnik.
According to reports, several deaths and injuries have been reported.
The blast occurred during the Friday prayers.
Reportedly, three back-to-back explosions hit Imam Bargah mosque in Kandahar. It is said to be one of the biggest mosques in the city, causing high casualties.

So far no terror group has so far taken the responsibility for the explosion. In recent weeks, the Islamic State (IS) has carried out a number of attacks in religious places
This is the second blast against Shia in one week, similar attack targeted a Shia mosque in Kunduz last Friday.
